This Privacy Policy explains how BeeHive Lifters ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit beehivelifters.com, contact us, or place an order. We sell physical beekeeping equipment; we do not run a database of accounts on this site — your order and customer records live with our payment processor (Stripe), and our marketing analytics are handled by the providers described below.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, and the contents of your message. This is emailed to us so we can reply; we do not store it in a database on this site.
• Orders: when you buy, checkout is hosted by Stripe. You provide your name, email, phone number, and shipping and billing address directly to Stripe, along with your payment card details. We receive the order confirmation (including your name, contact details, shipping address, items, and amount) so we can build and ship your lifter — but we never receive or store your full card number; card data is handled entirely by Stripe.

Information collected automatically

• Usage & device data: pages viewed, the date/time of the visit, referring links, and your IP address and browser user-agent.
• Advertising identifiers: if you arrive from a Google or Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad, the click identifiers in the link (such as gclid or fbclid) and campaign tags (UTM parameters), so we can measure which ads lead to orders.
• Cookies and similar technologies: see the next section.

The automatic analytics and advertising collection above runs only after you accept cookies using the banner on this site. If you decline, none of it is loaded.

Cookies and similar technologies

We show a consent banner on your first visit. Analytics and advertising technologies default to off (Google Consent Mode is set to "denied") and are loaded only if you click Accept. If you click Decline, we store only a small record of that choice so we do not ask again, and load nothing else.

Only after you accept, the following may be set:

• Google Analytics 4 / Google Ads (loaded through Google Tag Manager) — e.g. the _ga cookie and Google Ads cookies, used to measure traffic and ad performance and to show remarketing ads.
• Meta Pixel — e.g. the _fbp and _fbc cookies, used to measure and target Facebook/Instagram ads.
• First-party attribution — a bhl_attr cookie (about 90 days) that remembers your ad click identifiers and campaign tags so a resulting order can be attributed to the ad you clicked.

Stripe may also set cookies that are necessary to process your payment and prevent fraud during checkout on Stripe's hosted page.

Analytics and advertising

With your consent, we use Google (Analytics 4 and Google Ads, including remarketing) and Meta to understand how the site is used and to measure and target our advertising. To measure conversions accurately, we use both in-browser tags and secure server-to-server reporting (Google's Measurement Protocol and Meta's Conversions API).

As part of this conversion measurement — and again only when you have consented — we share a limited set of order information with Google and Meta so they can match a purchase to an ad. This may include your email, phone number, name, and address, which are irreversibly hashed (SHA-256) before they are sent so the platforms receive a scrambled value rather than your details in the clear, together with your ad click identifiers, IP address, and browser user-agent. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing.

How we use information

• To respond to your messages and questions.
• To process, build, and ship your order and provide customer service.
• To send order and shipping notifications.
• With your consent, to measure website traffic and advertising performance, and to show and improve the relevance of our ads.
• To operate, secure, and improve the site.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as needed:

• Stripe — payment processing and checkout (PCI-compliant; it holds your payment and order details).
• Resend — delivers our order and contact-form notification emails.
• Google and Meta — analytics and advertising measurement, as described above and subject to your consent.
• Our hosting provider — serves the website.

We may also disclose information if required to comply with a subpoena, law, or other legal obligation, or to protect our rights and safety. The providers above may process information in the United States, Canada, or other countries.

Your choices and rights

• Cookie choices: accept or decline analytics/advertising cookies with the banner. To change your choice later, clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser and reload the page to see the banner again.
• Google ad settings: manage or opt out of personalized ads at adssettings.google.com. For many third-party vendors, see optout.aboutads.info or networkadvertising.org/choices.
• Meta ad settings: adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook/Instagram account settings.
• Access, correction, or deletion: you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information (subject to legal exceptions). Email us at info@beehivelifters.com with the subject "Privacy Request". We may ask for information to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Data retention

We keep order and communication records for as long as needed to fulfill your order, provide support and warranty service, and meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements. Analytics and advertising data are retained according to the settings and policies of Google and Meta.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information, including handling payment card data solely through our PCI-compliant processor (Stripe, so card numbers are never stored on this website) and hashing customer identifiers before sharing them for ad measurement. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

This site and our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Please review this page periodically.
